Jacques Roussel-Rouxel was born and baptized on October 25, 1720 in St-Pierre-St-Paul, Évran, Côtes-d'Armor in France. Son of Jean and Jeanne Charpentier, he married Marie-Geneviève Bérubé, daughter of Mathurin and by Marie-Angélique Miville, January 12, 1750 in Rivière-Ouelle. The couple had 8 children. Widowed in 1766, he married in second marriage Geneviève-Gabrielle Émond, daughter of Pierre-Augustin and Marie-Ursule Mignault-Labrie, on January 7, 1767 in Rivière-Ouelle. From this union are born 8 children. He was first mentioned in the country in 1749. He died on January 17, 1805 and was buried two days later in Rivière Ouelle.
