Charles "the Hammer" Martel was an early Frankish Warrior-King of the early territory of Frankish-Gaul that was to become France.He and his army fought against the Muslim-Moors and Berbers who were invading Western Europe through Spain in the early middle ages.He beat them back and out of Gallo-Frankish lands,later known as France.He literally saved western Christiandom and prevented Western Europe from Moorish invasion,such as what took place in Spain and Iberia at the time.
