Pioneers of the Marois family

Guillaume Marois was born in 1660 in Saint-Paul, Paris in France. Son of Charles Marois and Catherine Livrade, he marries Catherine Laberge, daughter of Robert Laberge and Françoise Gausse-Leborgne, in 1687 in L’Ange-Gardien. From this union were born 11 children. Arrived in the country as a cooper, he is appointed court clerk of the bailiwick of Beaupré in 1691. He lives modestly in revenues and pays his debts honestly. He dies in December 1708 in Château-Richer, where he is buried the next day.
