Some gave the name to Normandy, les Normands, or Norsemen. Some who were Englanders, were from the narrow lands (in old Germany) were called les Anglois in Old French. A single person would be called l'Anglois in French but Langlois in Old French. Other Vikings or Norsemen came from Jutland and Saxony.
