History and origin of the Jolin family

Jean Jolin was born circa 1651 in St-Martin-de-Ré, Charente-Maritime, France. Parents unknown. He married Suzanne Moreau, of unknown parentage, on January 11, 1673 in St-Martin-de-Ré. We know nothing about this first union. He came here in 1681 and settled first, in Château-Richer, and then in Ile d'Orléans. He was a miller and he worked at the Sault-à-la-Puce and Petit-Pré mills. Widower, he married Marie Boileau on April 4, 1690 in Ile d'Orléans. She was the widow of Pierre Chauvin and Simon Chamberland, and the daughter of René Boileau and Joachine Serrant. They had one son. He died on December 24, 1725 et he was buried in Ile d'Orleans the next day.
