The Boucher-De-Grosbois familiy has origins in Montreal,Quebec and Boucherville,Quebec Canada.The progenitor of the family and one of it's most prominent members was Pierre Boucher.His statue is by the Parlaiment Building in Montreal along with many others.He was a peasant in Mortagne-a-Perche,France,near Normandy.He became a very prominent coloniser and settlers and adventureer in New France,so prominent that he is the very first man in all of Canada to be rise to the rank of the nobility.One of his grandons had 7 sons of his own.Each son took a title named for a place-name back in France.Titles such as Timothe Boucher seiur de mont brun,Boucher seiur de gros bois,Boucher seiur du bois and etc....The descendants of these 7 sons eventually adapted each respective title into the family surname.Today these families carry the title as the family surname and are all directly descended from the 7 sons and in turn ultimately direct descendants of Pierre Boucher,the founder of these respecitve families,including the Boucher-De Grosbois of today

The Boucher family was prominent in early Quebec.At one time the head of the family had 7 sons.Each son was in military service and took a title named for a place name in France.These titles eventually became the various surnames associated with the Boucher family,origininally founded by Pierre Boucher.Boucher-De-Grosbois was one of these title/surnames along with Demonbreun,Dubois,La Verendye and many others,totally 7 in all.

Pierre Boucher was an early settler and colonist of what is today Boucherville near Montreal,Quebec.He became the first man in Canada,or New France,to be given the letters of enoblement by the King of France,Louis XIV.He is the first man in all of Canada to be made a nobleman,and he came from a peasant background in France but rose to be a very prominent colonizer in early New France.One of his grandsons had 7 sons.Each son took a title,named after a place name in France such as DeMontBrun,Dubois,Grosbois,etc... with each of these 7 families,eventually these titles became part of the family surname used by the descendants of each family,all ultimatley descended from Pierre Boucher.
