Obituary of Lola-Mae Freeman


Funeral for Lola Mae Freeman, 73, of Decatur will be Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Irvin Himmel and Gary Patton officiating.Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Freeman died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, at her residence. She was born May 22, 1930, in Cullman to Chesley Homer Raburn and Birdie Lee Long Raburn. She was an office nurse for 35 years. She was a member of Somerville Road Church of Christ from 1955 until her death. Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin Raburn and Alvin Raburn; and two sisters, Ina Mae Raburn Stover and Sue Raburn Dunevant.Survivors include her husband, William P. “Bill” Freeman; one son, Larry and Debbie Freeman of Birmingham; one daughter, Sandra and Glenn H. Smith of Hartselle; one brother, Amon and Pearl Raburn of Taylor, Mich.; one sister, Marie and Paul Aleshire of Taylor, Mich.; two grandsons and one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; a very, very special niece, Martha Moran of Birmingham, and many other nieces and nephews, great nieces and great-nephews. Pallbearers will be Larry Parr, Bobby Jackson, James Ray, Sanford Satterfield, John Obert and Jackie Stover. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley or your favorite charity.
