John-E. Sanborn, born in 1914, spouse of Frances Wilcox, son of Arthur and Anne, father of Judy and John, died on October 7, 2008 at 93 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
MANCHESTER -- John E. Sanborn, 93, died Oct. 7, 2008, at Veteran Affairs Medical Center, after a period of failing health. He was born in Exeter, Nov. 13, 1914, to Arthur and Anne (Dow) Sanborn. He resided in Amesbury, Mass., most of his life, before moving to Manchester in 2000. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He worked as a sheet metal mechanic at Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard for 32 years. He was a member of Blind Veterans Association and Disabled American Veterans Association. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances (Wilcox) Sanborn, on Feb. 14, 1995. Family members include a daughter, Judy Ferrer of Manchester; a son, John Sanborn; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mabel Brown of Raymond; and several nieces and nephews. SERVICES: A graveside service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the N.H. State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Route 3, Boscawen, with the Rev. Douglas Rickard, officiating.
