DOVER &#8212; Robert J. Nadeau, 93, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital.He was born West Broughton, Canada, on March 28, 1918, the son of Joseph and Alberta (Provencher) Nadeau. Robert was a longtime resident of Dover, N.H.He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II in the Pacific Theater as a sergeant.Mr. Nadeau was a salesman for H.P. Hood and later had worked at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital as an assistant maintenance supervisor, where he later retired.He was a life member of the American Legion Post 8 of Dover.Members of his family include two daughters, Jeannette Christian and her husband, Dana, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Germaine Nadeau of Dover; two sisters, Ida Nadeau of Dover and Estelle Delano of Somersworth. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Rina (Dolbec) Nadeau, who died in 1995. Two brothers, Jean Mark Nadeau and Leo Nadeau, and his sister, Theresa Vigneault, also predeceased him.Visiting hours will be on Friday, June 10 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., in Dover.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday June 11 at 11 a.m. at The Parish of The Assumption at St. Mary's Church at the corner of Chestnut and 3rd Street in Dover.
