Funeral Mass for the late Omer Lafontaine was celebrated by Reverend Bernard Cloutier at Paroisse des Saints Anges, Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers were his grandchildren, Sean Chamberlain, Jennifer Hubley, and Denis, Daniel, Roger and José Savage. Omer passed away at North Bay General Hospital, Saturday, March 6, 2004. Omer Lafontaine, beloved husband of Dolores Racicot, in his 82nd year. Dearly loved father of Lorraine Chamberlain (Doug) and Jeannine Savage (Maurice). Lovingly remembered by six grandchildren Sean Chamberlain (friend Courtney), Jennifer Hubley (Brad), Denis, Daniel, Roger and José Savage and four great-grandchildren Rebecca and Bradley Hubley and Sera and Kristen Savage. Dear brother of Lucien (Noretta), Gerard (Joyce), Marie Bissonnette (Antoine, deceased), Bernadette Desgagne (Leo, deceased), Therese Andrysiak, Rita Storie (Ivan, deceased) Sister Marie Claire Lafontaine S.S.C.M., and sisters-in-law, Marie Connor-Ryan (Cecil, deceased) and Sister Celina Racicot F.D.L.S. Predeceased by his parents Florina and John Lafontaine, brother Ted, and sister Jeanne D'Arc Nowry, (Milton, deceased), sisters-in-law Elizabeth Beaudry (Roger, deceased) and Eleonor Petrie (John, deceased). Omer served in the Canadian Air Force during World War II for 51/2 years with 21/2 years being served overseas.
