LAFONTAINE, Norman Joseph Veteran WWII - Royal Canadian Corps of Signals - England, Normandy, Belgium, Holland. Member of Royal Canadian Legion branches, Montgomery and Bells Corners; Life Member Knights of Columbus Council - St. Martin de Porres. Peacefully at The Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre on Sept. 20, 2007 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Muriel (Jarvis), and his deceased wife Julia (nee Brands), father of Guy (Roberta Wood and deceased wife Mary Pat (nee Noonan)), Eloise and stepfather to Sue Hodgkinson (John); brother of Leona (Nelson) Masse. Brother-in-law of Jean Fisher and families in England and Holland. Loved grandfather of Justin (Mary), Kathleen, Andrew and step-grandfather of Kristy. Uncle to many nieces and nephews in Canada and Europe. Predeceased by, his parents Leroy and Melina (Laframboise); siblings Leo (Blanche), Louis (Marge), Vincent; Edna and Marie. Special thanks to the many, many staff and volunteers at The Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre for their compassionate care during Norm's eleven years residency, especially Shirley, Karen and Alice. Private family visitation. Funeral Monday to St. Martin de Porres Church for Mass of Christian Funeral at 11 a.m. Cremation and private interment at Pinecrest Cemetery.
