->FORT KENT - John R. Nadeau passed away peacefully on Sept. 19, 2013, at Cary Medical Center, Caribou. He was born Jan. 9, 1944, in Fort Kent, son of the late Guy and Lauria (Saucier) Nadeau.He was brought up in Fort Kent and graduated from Fort Kent Community High School. John worked at Fraser Paper for three years and for Nadeau's House of Furniture for 15 years. John will be best remembered for his generosity to others, his kind heart, and his great sense of humor. He also donated his time with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. He loved making puzzles, playing bingo, writing in his journals, and most of all spent many hours collecting and clipping articles of valley news. He loved spending time at family gatherings. He made his home in Madawaska where he met and enjoyed many friends. He was a great gift and inspiration to everyone who was fortunate enough to have crossed his path. The last three years, John lived in the care of Van Buren Borderview where he was cared for by skilled staff who held a special place in his heart.John is survived by three brothers, Louis, Joel, and Maurice; and four sisters, Jeannette and her husband, Ray Gibson, Doris and her husband, Gary Griffin, Linda and her husband, Raymond Deprey, and Yvette Nadeau; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.Friends may call 9-10:45 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, at St. Louis Church, Fort Kent. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fort Kent Historical Society, P.O. Box 181, Fort Kent, ME 04743. The family would like to convey their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at Van Buren Borderview.
