John L DuBois April 20, 1924 - May 19, 2008 PLAINFIELD - John L. &quotFrenchy&quot DuBois, 84, of 5 Sunny Acres, Moosup died early Monday morning at W. W. Backus Hospital, Norwich. He was born April 20, 1924 in Mont Morency Falls, P.Q. Canada a son of the late Joseph and Zelina (Audette) DuBois and had lived in Plainfield for most of his life. Mr. DuBois was a World War II Army veteran having served with the 82nd Airborne Division. He received the Silver Star during combat behind enemy lines as a non commissioned intelligence officer of the Office of Strategic Service. Mr. DuBois also received the Purple Heart, and the Good Conduct and Victory Medals. He was employed by American Screw Co. of Willimantic and retired from Pervel Industries in Plainfield after 27 years of service. Mr. DuBois was a charter member of VFW Post # 5446, Plainfield. Survivors include four sons, John J. DuBois of Central Village, Steven O. DuBois of Salem, Glenn DuBois of Plainfield and Curt DuBois of Canterbury. Three daughters, Roxanne Black and Kim Seely both of Canada and Cheryl DuBois-Olsen of Moosup. 29 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great great grandson. He was predeceased by a brother Joseph DuBois. Relatives and friends may call at Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home 595 Norwich Rd. Plainfield on Friday from 2-4 PM. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will follow at 4:30 PM in St. John Cemetery, Plainfield.
