FREEMAN -Evelyn Mary (1930 2007). It is with sadness that the family of Evelyn Freeman announces her peaceful but unexpected passing on Tuesday, April 24, 2007. She is lovingly remembered by her four children and their families: Linda Stanviloff (Saskatoon) and sons James, Richie and Robbie, and their father, Terry Stanviloff; Doug and Marlene Freeman (Saskatoon) and their daughters Kelsey and Charlie; Perry and Linda Freeman (Kelowna) and their children Lauren, Shane, Scott, Cherise and Sarah; and Kim Freeman and Bob Cummings (Calgary) and their daughters Jenna and Lindsay. She was predeceased by her husband, Keith on April 23, 1992, as well as her parents Robert and Mercy Ruthven, siblings Doreen Empey and Jim (Ann) Ruthven, parents-in-law Frank and Florence Freeman and sister-in-law, Mavis Barnett. She is survived by her brother George and his family, many nieces and nephews will be particularly missed by Glenda Giles (Clayton), Dale Hazel (Judy), and Gordie Hazel (Glenda) and their children and grandchildren. Evelyn was born in Elrose, Saskatchewan on December 12, 1930. In 1953 she married Keith, and his work took them to Calgary, Winnipeg and Vancouver before they finally settled in Saskatoon in 1960. Evelyn took much joy and pride in cooking family meals, celebrating family events and holidays, and sharing the fruits of her baking and cooking talents. She spent many hours sewing and knitting for her children and grandchildren and blessed all those close to her with wonderful handmade moccasins. After her children were older, she worked at the bowling alley and Sears and cherished the many friendships made there. She so appreciated her neighbours and enjoyed outings with longtime friends. More than anything, Evelyn was about family and friends, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Saskatoon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan. Arrangements are entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home (244-5577).
