Eleanor-E. Johnson, born in 1915, spouse of Eli A. Berube, daughter of John and Lena, mother of Ronald, Ann Marie, John and Susan, died on October 27, 2005 at 90 years old.
SHREWSBURY— Eleanor E. (Johnson) Berube, 90, formerly of Holden, died Thursday, October 27, 2005, in Knollwood Nursing Home. Her husband of 38 years, Eli A. Berube, died in 1970. She leaves 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald E. and Ann Marie Berube of Northboro, and John R. and Susan Berube of Bangor, Maine; a brother, Harold Johnson of Worcester; and 3 granddaughters, Donna M., wife of William Hayden, of Boylston, Debra A. Berube of Shrewsbury, and Sharon M. Berube of Northboro; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of John and Lena (Strom) Johnson. Eleanor was a nurse's aide at the former Worcester County Hospital and a member of Salem Covenant Church and Order of Eastern Star. Eleanor loved spending time with her family and friends. She was proud of her faith and of her great-grandchildren. She also loved the outdoors, traveling, adventure, and good food. Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 31, at 11:00 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. After cremation, burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
