MERIDEN - Donna (Arno) Freeman, 73, of Meriden, wife of James T. Freeman, died on Monday, April 29, 2013, at MidState Medical Center after a lengthy illness.Born in Parkman, Maine on Aug. 22, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Helen (Nutting) Arno. She had resided in Meriden for the last 45 years. She attended schools in Maine and was a graduate of Newport (Maine) High School. Mrs. Freeman was employed by AMF Cuno and more recently with Napier Jewelry for some 27 years. She worked in the Meriden School System as a part time cafeteria worker for some three years. She was an avid Boston sports fan and New England Patriots fan and a 31 year season ticket holder.Besides her husband James of 43 years, she is survived by one daughter, Cathy-Jo Mottram and her husband, Matthew, of Meriden; one son, Bob Herbst and his wife, Jamie, of Meriden; one step-daughter, Anne Appelle, of Denver, Colo.; two step-sons, James Freeman and his wife, Kim, of Meriden and Everett Freeman, of Wallingford; five grandchildren, Zachary, Bryce, Jacob, Lauren and Trevor; and two sisters, Beverly Lackman, of Meriden and Susan Solonowicz and her husband, Frank, of South Berwick, Maine. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Frances Gallant, of Augusta, Maine.Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Monday, May 6, at 11 a.m. at The Walter Hubbard Chapel at Walnut Grove Cemetery, 817 Old Colony Road, Meriden.
