She was born December 18, 1931 in Buffalo, MO, the daughter of Leslie and Ruth Hill Crosby. Her mother died when Donna was an infant, and she was raised by her father and step-mother, Elizabeth. In 1949, she married Edward Freeman. She retired from Bank of America after a long career. She enjoyed serving in her church's homebound ministry, working in her yard and flower garden and her beloved dog, Romie.She was a member of Madeconia Baptist Church.Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; son, Eddie; and brother, Bobby.She is survived by son, Bob, of Tulsa; daughter, Judi Pennington and husband Ron of Strafford; grandchildren, Aaron Pennington and wife, Regina of Marshfield, Brandon Pennington and wife Chantel of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Michael and Csuri; brother, Charles Crosby and wife Snookie of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in Oaklawn Cemetery in Buffalo, MO, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home.
