Claire E. LaFontaineLongtime resident of Chelmsford; age 99 CHELMSFORD -- Claire E. (Fontaine) LaFontaine, age 99, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, died on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Franklin Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.She was the wife of the late Harvey LaFontaine. She was born in Lowell on September 7, 1915, and was a daughter of the late Pierre W. and Mary (Remillard) Fontaine.Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a cashier for many years by DeMoulas Supermarket in Chelmsford.Claire loved to travel throughout the world and to Florida for many years with her friends.She was a devout Catholic with a strong faith and was a longtime communicant of St. Mary Church in Chelmsford. Claire was affectionately known as Aunty Claire. She is survived by two sisters, Ruth McHugh and her husband, Joseph of Franklin, and Geraldine Ward of Norwood; and many beloved nieces and nephews.She was also the sister of the late Irene Ogg, Laura Beckwith, Leo Fontaine, and Arthur Fontaine. LaFONTAINE -- Visitation will be held at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD on Monday from 9:30 until 10:30 am followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 o'clock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford.
