Betty Lorrayne DuBois Betty Lorrayne Dubois, 90, of Ocean City, died Wednesday evening at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point, N.J. Born in Huntingdon, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Betty Grove English and the wife of the late John DuBois. Mrs. DuBois was formerly of Mauricetown and had resided in Absecon for 34 years prior to residing in Ocean City the past 5 years. She had worked as a nurse in Pennsylvania and then Bridgeton Hospital for over 20 years. She was the lab director for the New Jersey Dept. of Environmental Protection Bacteriological lab in Leeds Point, she retired in 1981. Mrs. DuBois was a member of Shekinah Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Millville for 46 years; she was active in the Absecon Senior Citizens; and was a life member of the Cumberland County Historical Society. Mrs. DuBois loved animals and frequently took in strays from her neighborhood. Surviving are her brother, Robert English and his wife Betty of Altoona, Pa.,; nephews and nieces, Edward and Betty Roe, David and Caroline English and Bill and Cheryle Eisele; and many other nephews and nieces. A graveside funeral service will be held at Olivet Cemetery in Centerton on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Juliann Henry officiating. There will be no public viewing. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Ocean City, 1 Shelter Rd., Ocean City, NJ 08226. Arrangements are being handled by HOFFMAN FUNERAL HOMES Leesburg, N.J.
