BRATTLEBORO -- Beatrice M. (Thomas) Nadeau, 48, of 118 Connecticut River Drive, died Saturday afternoon, June 7, 2003, surrounded by her family at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., following a period of declining health. She was born Feb. 13, 1955, in Brattleboro, a daughter of Russell Y. and Frieda (Foucha) Thomas. A lifelong resident of Brattleboro, she attended Brattleboro schools, graduating from Brattleboro Union High School, class of 1973. She later attended Bay Path College in Longmeadow, Mass. She began a career in education as a secretary at the University of Massachusetts. She worked as a secretary/aide for over 15 years with the Windham Southeast Supervisory Union at the Green Street/Walnut Street School and at Academy School in Brattleboro. Mrs. Nadeau was an independent person, the result of her strong, stoic farm upbringing. She loved working with children, animals, music, and was known as an excellent cook. On June 5, 1976, she married David W. Nadeau who survives. Besides her husband of 27 years, she leaves a son, Russell T. Nadeau of Lyndonville; a sister, Harriet T. Davenport of West Chesterfield, N.H.; and several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Max E. Carr Funeral Home, 147 Western Ave. Brattleboro. Burial will be in the family lot in Locust Ridge Cemetery.
