Albert Henry Nadeau April 13, 1924 - Nov. 13, 2012 CALIFORNIA -- Dr. Albert H. Nadeau passed away peacefully on Nov. 13, 2012, due to complications from muscular dystrophy. He was surrounded by his family. Albert Nadeau was born on April 13, 1924, in Marquette, Mich., to Arthur and Lida Nadeau. While at Graveraet High School, Albert was a Michigan State Tennis Champion. First Lt. Albert Nadeau served as a Bombardier in WWII and was stationed on the island of Tinian in the South Pacific where he was a member of the 6th Bomb Group, Crew #3913, B-29. Albert Nadeau attended the University of Michigan where he obtained his doctorate degree in Theater and he played hockey for the University. While attending the University, Albert met his love Eugenia Bernadine McCallum from Portland. They were married on Aug. 18, 1951, in Portland. The Nadeaus moved to Boulder, Colo., where Dr. Nadeau was a Professor in the Theater Department at the University of Colorado. Dr. Nadeau became the Chairman of the Theater & Dance Department and he was noted for the number of his successful theater productions both at the University of Colorado and at the Red Rocks Amphitheater. He was also the head of, and he helped found, the Shakespeare Festival at the Mary Rippon Theater. Representing the University of Colorado's Theater Department, and utilizing its actors, Nadeau produced his own play and brought theater to the rural areas of Colorado. Dr. and Mrs. Nadeau raised their six children in Sunshine Canyon, in Boulder, Colo., in the house he helped to design and build. Dr. Nadeau enjoyed training and riding horses and an outdoor lifestyle. In 1986, Dr. and Mrs. Nadeau retired and moved to Maine and Florida to fulfill their love of boating. They moved to Southern California in 2004 to be close to their son Craig. Dr. Nadeau is survived by his wife Eugenia to whom he was married 61 years; five of his children, Mark, Ellen, Sharon, Craig and Beth; their spouses, Marilyn, Tom, Eric and John; and his grandchildren, Kate and Barry. His son Barry; his parents, Arthur and Lida; and his siblings, Ray, Louis, Constance, Joseph and Paul have preceded him in death.
