BERLIN -- Aime Nadeau, 89, of 325 Coos St., died March 6, 2010, at Androscoggin Valley Hospital. He was born in Ste. Hermenigilde, P.Q., Canada, July 8, 1920, to Alexandre and Alma (Dube) Nadeau. He was employed as a woodsman from the age of 16 to 72, experiencing the change from the bucksaws and crosscut saws with horses era to skidders and chainsaws. He wrote his memoirs and enjoyed telling stories of bygone days and sharing pictures with anyone who would drop by. His greatest love was his family. He was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and an officer of the Holy Name Society of Guardian Angel Church. He was predeceased by two sons, Roger Nadeau and Claude Nadeau. Family members include his wife, Jeanne (Maurais) Nadeau of Berlin; five children, Louise Guerin of Berlin, Raymond Nadeau, Claudette Morneau of Milan, Maurice Nadeau of Gorham and Arline Kimball Sandborton; four sisters, Bella Marchand of Gorham, Cecile Parent of Tolland, Conn., Doris Marchand of Manchester, Conn., and Lucille Jackson of Fort Eric, Ontario, Canada; one brother, Alex Nadeau of Yuma, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. SERVICES: Calling hours are Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Fleury Patry Funeral Home, High Street, Berlin. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, Berlin. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cates Hill Road in Berlin.
