Obituary of Adrienne-S. Nadeau


AUGUSTA -- Adrienne S. Nadeau, age 73, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at her home following a long illness.She was born in Bridgton on Nov. 12, 1936, a daughter of the late Alex J. and Arlene (Hill) Nadeau.Ms. Nadeau was a graduate of Wiscasset High School and earned an associate degree in social work from the University of Maine at Augusta.She had been employed by the state of Maine, first at the Augusta Mental Health institute, then by the Forensics Department, for 37 years.Ms. Nadeau was a member of the Medico-Legal Society, Maine State Retirees Association and the Wiscasset Alumni Association.She was predeceased by a brother, Donald Nadeau.Ms. Nadeau is survived by her partner, Jackie Austin of Augusta; a son, Jeffrey Nadeau of Winthrop; a sister, Sharon Cline and her husband, Marcus, of Galveston, Texas; as well as several nieces and nephews.Following cremation, a gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 3, at her home, 49 Middle St., Augusta.Those who desire may make donations in Adrienne's memory to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society, 10 Pet Haven Lane, Augusta, ME 04330.Arrangements are under the direction of Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.Condolences to the family may be sent via the funeral home website at www.plum merfh.com.
