OKEECHOBEE - Virginia Mae Thomas, age 68, died Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Hospice of Okeechobee. Virginia was born in Stovall, Ga., but later moved to Okeechobee with her family where she lived until her demise. She was employed by the Okeechobee County School System in the cafeteria for many years. She was a member of Miracle Faith Temple, Church of God In Christ, in Okeechobee. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Johnson; step-father, Charlie M. Henderson; mother, Clara M. Henderson; son, Tweed King, daughter, Demetria King; and grandson, Aaron C. Mays. Survivors include five children, Joshua (Angela) Mays, Jr., Rosemary Mays, Kaseen King, Charles (Sharon) King, and Corey King; brothers, Johnny (Iris) Johnson, Charlie L. (Rosa) Henderson, Jr., Timothy Henderson, Pastor Titus (Karen) Henderson, Larry Roberts, and Lincoln Robert; sisters, Christine McBride, Twyla (Ernest) Blair, Tammie Henderson, Tina (Ed) Martin, Bonita Roberts, Loris Roberts, Jackie Roberts, Kim Roberts, and Amy Roberts; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends. Visitation will be held at Miracle Faith Temple, COGIC, on Friday, May 27, 2011, from 5 until 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Okeechobee, 401 SW 4th Street. Arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Brothers Funeral Home, 1803 N. Tamarind Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL.
