Linda Carol (Johnson) Thomas, 62, of Springfield, Mo., passed away in her home on July 4, 2010 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 13, 1948, in Springfield, Mo., to Ralph L., Sr. and Betty A. Johnson. She was raised in California, and always dreamt of returning to the ocean. Linda was a gifted accordianist and was enrolled in the Kansas City Conservatory of Music when she met her future husband. She married Kenneth Ray Thomas on March 29, 1969 in Garden Grove, Calif. She worked for many years in Radonco Exteriors and St. John's Hospital prior to becoming disabled. She was deeply devoted to caring for her children and grandchildren, and often opened her home to relatives and friends in need. She loved Elvis Presley, Silver Dollar City, Apple Butter Days, and was well known for her flowers in her gardens. She is preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Kenneth Dean Norman. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Ray, of the home; three daughters, Crystal Romay and her husband Joseph of Liberty, Mo., and their children Danielle, Jordan, and Joshua, Kimberley LeVan and her husband Matt, of Springfield, and their children Ian and Lizzie, and Catherine Bell and her husband Doug, of Springfield, and their children Rebecca, Riley, Kimmi, and Madison; and three siblings, Betty Rhodes, Catherine Robinson, and Ralph L. Johnson, Jr. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 7, 2010, in Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday July 8, 2010, in Miller Memorial Gardens, in Miller, Mo., with the Reverend Charles Hufft officiating.
