Joseph Donald Leclerc, 78, died Nov. 23, 2008, at his home. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Sebastian for 15 years, coming from Windsor Locks, Conn. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Before retirement, he was an electronic technician at UTC in Windsor Locks, Conn. He was a member of the 13th Bomb Squadron Retirement Club, American Legion Post 189, and life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10210, both of Sebastian. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Alice Leclerc of Sebastian; son, Edwin C. Barron Jr. of Suffield, Conn.; daughters, Linda Gaylord of East Hartland, Conn., and Nancy Simpkins of Edenton, N.C.; brothers, Norman Leclerc of Somers, Conn., and Paul Leclerc of Stuart; sister, Geraldine Roux of Lewiston, Maine; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette DeBlois. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA and Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32950. SERVICES: A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 5 at the Strunk Funeral Home in Sebastian, followed by military honors conducted by the Sebastian Area Veterans' Honor Guard. A reception will follow the services at the American Legion Post No. 189, Sebastian.
