Born in Montgomery, Alabama on September 3, 1952 she was the daughter to the late Robert Bean and Willie V. Cartrell Bean. Barbara was a Direct Care Worker for Victory Lake Nursing Home before retiring. Barbara enjoyed cooking and being with her family. Survivors include her daughters; Sharon Thomas of Poughkeepsie and 2 Grandchildren; Marva Clarke of Atlanta Georgia, 3 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren; Vicky Cartrell of Montgomery Alabama and 2 Grandchildren. Sons, Avery Green of Poughkeepsie and 3 Grandchildren; Brian Thomas of Poughkeepsie and 6 Grandchildren; Farnell Green of Montgomery, Alabama. Sisters Joanne Perkins and husband Claude of Montgomery Alabama; Rosa Duncan and husband Alexander of Montgomery Alabama and Louise Cartrell of California. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Tuesday July 9, 2013 from 1pm to 2pm at the Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, 39 So. Hamilton Street Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 (845)452-1840.
