April 13, 2003 Jean E. Hanson Wallace Brown, 63, of Amber, NY, died on April 13, 2003 after a 12-year battle with cancer. She was born in Waterford, PA on July 22, 1939, the daughter of Harold and Emma Hanson. Jean was a graduate of Brocton Central School, and attended R.I.T. in Rochester. She was a past member of the Portland Chapter of the O.E.S. Formerly a resident of Pompey N.Y., Jean was an active member of the Pompey United Church, a 4H leader, and a member of the Pompey Hills Fire Department Women's Auxiliary. In June of 1999 she retired from Kilian Corporation in Syracuse. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Amber Congressional Church and attended the Lady's Fellowship groups and various study sessions. She was also a member of the Amber Supper Club. Additionally, she enjoyed reading, gardening, and traveling. Her husband, Richard Brown, and her mother, Emma Hanson of Heritage Village Nursing Home in Gerry survive her as well as children: Lorraine Dean of Falconer; Linda Martin of Manlius; Leslie Barnett of Liverpool; and Jason Wallace of New Orleans, LA.; three step-children: Leslie Brown of Liverpool; Kathleen "Kit" Miles of Troop; and Curtis Brown of Marietta; sister-in-law: Madeline Hanson of Summerville, SC; two nephews; sisters-in-law; Doris Dodrill of Auburn; Sarah Kingsley of Kirkville; and Alta Bullivant of Interlaken; four grandchildren: William and Rebecca Dean; John and Tana Martin; eleven step-grandchildren: Ronald Perry; Jennifer Lewis; Amanda and Christopher Miles: Edward and Robert Brown; Amber Green; Christina and Lindsay Brown; Sarah and Amy Driscoll; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her father, Harold Hanson in 1994 and her brother, James Hanson in 1989. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Amber Congressional Church.
