Thomas D. Jordan, 78, husband of Weldon Mitchell Jordan, of 220 McKelvey Road, died June 10, 2004, at St. Francis Hospital.He was a native of Greenville County, a son of the late Lewie and Bertie Page Jordan, and was retired from Fluor-Daniel. Mr. Jordan attended North Greenville College and Carson Newman College, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.He was a member of Daventon Baptist Church, where he had served as Deacon, Teacher, Training Union Director, Director of Sunday School and Church Treasurer.Surviving besides his wife, of the home, are a daughter, Jennie J. Dempsey, and husband, Tom, of Simpsonville; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Thomas J. "T.J." Dempsey.Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Daventon Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tommy Lowe and the Rev. Robert Simms officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.Active pallbearers will be Fred Mattison Jr., Danny McIntyre, Gerald, Jimmy and Franklin Mitchell, Will Bailey, Billy Swartzel, William Pritchett, Austin Childress and Justin Kellett.The family acknowledges with grateful appreciation the care given Mr. Jordan by Carolina Regional Nephrology, Upstate Cardiology, and Palmetto Pulmonary, Associates and staff of St. Francis Hospital.The family is at the home, and will receive friends at Parker-White Funeral Home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
