John-William Jordan, né en 1919, fils de Carl et Minnie-Lee-Jordan, père de Mike, Kathy, Pam Chapman et Keith, est décédé le 30 janvier 2003 à l'âge de 84 ans.
John William "Rabbit" Jordan, 84, formerly of Langley Street, widower of Mildred Houston Jordan, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Anderson Area Medical Center. Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Carl Preston and Minnie Lee Jordan Jordan. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from the Kendall Company. He delivered Meals on Wheels, was a former baseball and textile basketball player and high school basketball referee, and was a member of Pelzer United Methodist Church, where he was a choir member. Surviving are a son, Mike Jordan, of Chapin; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Pam Chapman Jordan, of Williamston; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Jordan and Mike Hood, of Pendleton; sisters, Eckie Jordan of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Leoda Turpin of Richland; a brother, Hoyt Jordan, of Greenville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Vivian Donnan, Sarah Wilson and Mary Crane. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Pelzer United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Terry Mitchell. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family is at the home of Keith and Pam Jordan, 15 Stewart St., Williamston; and will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service, at the church. Memorials may be made to Pelzer United Methodist Church, 8 Hale St., Pelzer, SC 29669; or, to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621. Gray Mortuary in Pelzer is in charge of arrangements.
