PETERS Mr. William J. Peters, age 83 previously of Milford, beloved husband of Ruth (Heil) Peters of Port St. Lucie, Fla., passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at St. Lucie Medical Center, Port St. Lucie, Fla. He was born in Buffalo, N.Y. and had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for the past 7 years coming from Naples, Fla. and Milford. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army in the Pacific Theater. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of the American Legion. Prior to retirement, he was employed with Southern Connecticut Gas Co. for 25 years in Bridgeport. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Wilson; two sons, William (Ingrid) Peters and Michael Peters, all of Port St. Lucie; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Lou (John) Roche of Naples, Fla. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 70 Gulf Street, Milford. Interment to follow in King's Highway Cemetery. Calling hours were held in Florida. Arrangements in care of the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association CT Chapter, 2911 Dixwell Avenue, Suite 104, Hamden, CT 06518. www.codywhitefuneralservice.com.
