William E. ‘Birdie’ Peters…Highlands resident, design-business owner; 35LOWELL — William E. “Birdie” Peters, 35, a resident of Lowell, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, Dec. 6.He was born in Buenos Aries, Argentina, Nov. 27, 1971, son of Donna (Conant) Peters of Dracut, and Wayne Peters of Clearwater, Fla. He and his family moved to Lowell in 1976. He graduated from Lowell High School in 1989, and received an associate’s degree in business from Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill. He attended University of Massachusetts at Lowell.He made his home in the Highlands section of the city.Mr. Peters worked as an office reconfiguration specialist for 10 years and recently started his own design business, “Work Place Office Installations.”He was an avid fantasy football and baseball player. He also played golf and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.According to family members, he was a beloved and loyal son, brother, uncle, and friend.In addition to his mother, Donna, and his father, Wayne and his wife, Geraldine, he is survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Tracey L. and Bruce Edwards of Lowell, Julie E. and Dan Nickerson of Lewiston, N.Y., and Kristie A. Matte of Dracut; 11 nieces and nephews, Amanda Saba, Lindsey Saba, Kaitlyn Saba, Christian Edwards, and Meghan Edwards, all of Lowell, Jennifer Nickerson, Sarah Nickerson, and D.J. Nickerson all of Lewiston, N.Y., Joshua Matte, Julia Matte, his godchild, and Chad Matte, all of Dracut.He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Roger and Carol Conant of Naples, Fla., Cherrie and Paul Bortz of Saco, Maine, Ellen and Russell MacLeod, and Scott and Jan Conant, all of Chelmsford.He also leaves his brothers-in-law, Jeffrey P. Saba of Lowell, and Brian M. Matte of Pelham; many cousins and close friends throughout the Greater Lowell area.
