February 10, 2009 William Christopher McDermott, 64, of Buffalo, formerly of Oneida, died Tuesday, at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Oneida, he graduated from Oneida High School and Canisius College and attained his master's in education from Buffalo State. Bill had been a cook in several Buffalo area restaurants. A guitarist, he played for several Buffalo area bands. Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Ryan; his son, Charles and his wife, Sofiya; his brother, Robert of Oneida; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at noon Monday at St. James Church in Cazenovia. Spring burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
