Obituary of William-A. Malone


MOBILE William A. Malone died Monday, May 24, 2006 at Mercy Medical Hospice in Mobile, Ala.His parents, Charles Aubrey and Abbey Inez Snowden Malone, and a sister, Marion Malone Christensen, preceded him in death.Survivors include his wife, Sandra Denley Malone; a daughter, Billie Sue Malone-Anderson; a son-in-law, Mike Anderson; mother-in-law, Ella Mae Denley; sister-in-law, Connie Denley Black and her husband Beverly Earl Black.He was a member of Zion Baptist Church and a long-time employee of Terminal Railroad and second-generation railroad man. He was also employed by the law firm of Blalock & Blalock in Birmingham, Ala. as an investigator and an expert witness in railroad cases. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, a member of the Masons, on the Board of Directors of Alabama Power Company's Energizers Organization, a volunteer for the Salvation Army, and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was an excellent woodworker and an avid collector of antiques, civil war and western memorabilia. He loved to travel and made numerous trips out west to attend auctions and functions to collect these items.The family will receive friends Saturday, May 27, 2006 at Pine Crest Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or Mercy Medical Hospice.Please join us after the service with his family and friends for a celebration of his life at Zion Baptist Church located at 2514 Halls Mill Road to enjoy a buffet from one of his favorite restaurants, Roussos.An online guestbook may be signed at www.pinecrestfuneralhome.com.
