CLARK Virginia A. B. Clark, age 86, a resident of Westport for many years, beloved wife of the late Alan H. Clark, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in Bluffton, SC. Born in Quincy, MA the daughter of the late Laurence and Mary Sapp Beech, she attended LaSalle Junior College in Pennsylvania where she met her future husband, Alan. She would leave her studies after a year and a half and later finished her degree in her 40's. Virginia worked in the banking profession prior to her marriage. She later became a certified swimming instructor her entire adult life and was excellent at teaching non-swimming adults of all ages. She was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution and was an actress in the Westport County Playhouse Theatre Group. Survivors include four children, Andrew Clark and his wife Lori of Bluffton, SC, Douglas Clark of New Hampshire, Elizabeth Garneau and her husband Paul of New Mexico and Margaret Deletes of Maryland; one grandchild, Haley Clark, the daughter of Douglas Clark and Pam Nordle. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Bradford Clark. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 11 am in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
