WILLIAMS _ Verna Elsie ( December 01, 1927 - May 26, 2006 ) Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Verna Williams, passed away on Friday, May 26, surrounded by family, and enveloped in love. Verna was predeceased by her husband, Ron, and her daughter, Nancy. She will forever be mourned by her daughter, Renee, and her husband, Bob; her daughter Karen, and husband Blair; and her son, Brad, and his wife Sarah. She cherished her grandchildren, Cory, Colin, Sean, Jennifer, Philip and Kevin. She leaves in sadness her sister Jean and brother-in-law Gill, and nephews Brian and Bruce and their families. As well, she will be missed by her sister-in-law Marion and many life long friends. Mom was always proud of having been born in tiny Anyox, BC but her spirit of adventure took her around the world with Ron and their children. The family cabin at Bowen Island was where she felt her spirit most at home, and with her unselfish and giving nature, she welcomed all who gathered there. Mom's life was dedicated to volunteering for various charity organizations, and her compassion inspired us all. Never judgmental, she was the true matriarch of our family circle, and the centre of our lives. Her zest for life was dimmed in recent years by illness, but her devotion to her children and grandchildren never wavered. We will remember her with joy and eternal love. Verna's wish was to be cremated and the family shall remember her at a private gathering. We would sincerely like to thank Dr. Hazel Park and Dr. Paul Sugar, and the Lions Gate Hospital staff for their compassion and kindness.
