<br/> <br/>VERDELL LEE SMITH --> VERDELL LEE SMITH, 85 AUBURNDALE - Mrs. Verdell Lee Smith, age 85, a resident of Auburndale passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Winter Haven Hospital due to heart failure. Mrs. Smith was born December 24, 1928, in Dothan, Alabama, to Robert and Rosa Eugenia (Arrington) Lee. Verdell was an Auburndale resident for the past 50 years coming from Alabama. She retired from Florida Tile after 30 years of service. She was a member of Westwood Missionary Baptist Church in Winter Haven. Verdell enjoyed spending time with her family, church family, friends and working outside in the yard. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, L.B. smith (in 1988); son, Allen Smith; and grandson, Brett Allen Richards. Verdell is survived by her loving family: sons, Roy (Evelyn) Lee of Green Cove Springs, FL, Michael (Linda) Smith of Savannah, GA, Mitchell (Diane) Smith of Winter Haven, Steve (Jeannie) Smith of Auburndale; daughters Linda (Henry) Richards of Winter Haven, Carolyn (Gary) Crews, Sandra (Wade) Allen, both of Auburndale; brother John (Margaret) Lee of Dothan, AL; sister Helen Virginia Woodall of Houston, TX; 17 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2014, at Westwood Missionary Baptist Church, 3210 Avenue G N.W., Winter Haven. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park. Visitation will be held before services from 12:00 until 1 p.m. at the church. Arrangements by Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale.
