BROWN, Vera Patricia(nee White)Vera Patricia Brown, 94, of Springfield Avenue in Greenfield Park died on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Charles Lemoyne Hospital following a short illness surrounded by her family. She was born on May 31, 1920 in St. Lambert, QC the daughter of William and Ethel (Ball) White. She is survived by her daughter June Main and husband George; son-in-law Gordon Wells; her grandchildren Dayle Losier and husband Ed, Tyler Main and his companion Jennifer, Jennifer Healey and husband Kevin, Dana Line and husband Steven, Dawn Hemenway and husband Jason. Her 11 great-grandchildren Colby Main, Rikki Healey, Shelby Losier, Tatum Main, Josh Healey, Taylor Losier, Cameron Main, Dawson Hemenway, Max Line, Braedon Hemenway and Dylan Line. Her sisters Rose Shultz and Nina Macado and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Maureen Wells, precious grandson James Croll, brothers Albert White, William White, and sisters Gladys Horton and Florence Giguere. Granny Brown, as she was known to all, was a very talented athlete. She played softball for the Olympics of Montreal and received many awards and accolades with her pitching skills. She began her career with Bell Canada, now Northern Telecom, during her teens as an engraver until the day she retired. She was an avid gardener and her yard was always in full bloom. All of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren dressed in style with the beautiful hand-knitted items she lovingly made. Every holiday was made extra special with the home baked goods and delicious meals she prepared. She was an enthusiastic Montreal Canadiens fan her whole life and made an effort to watch and analyze every game. Granny was dedicated to her family and was very proud of her independence. The family would like to sincerely thank all of her friends and neighbors that helped her continue to live in the home she loved. Gran provided her family with many cherished memories to pass along to future generations. Visiting hours will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. Interment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
