MEDWAY - Vera Evelyn Thompson, 60, died unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at her home. She was born Sept. 4, 1948, in Milo. Vera graduated from Higgins Classical Institute, Class of 1965. She married the love of her life, Gary Thompson, Dec. 17, 1965, spending 43 wonderful years together. She was a strong Christian who loved to go to church when she was able and to read her Bible. She loved to knit. Many needy folks have received her hand made scarves. She truly loved visiting with her grandkids, family and friends. Although she had many physical problems, she never, never lost her faith. She is survived by her husband, Gary Thompson Sr. of Medway; children, Gary Thompson Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Texas, Cathy Deloge of East Millinocket and Lynn Jones and her husband, Jeff, of Medway; three granddaughters, Tiffany and Julie Jones, and Ashley Deloge; several brothers and sisters; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Vera was predeceased by her parents, Adelbert and Elba Cottrell. Friends are invited to visit the family 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 2 Orchard St., East Millinocket, with funeral services beginning 11 a.m. with the Rev. Regginal Adams, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, East Millinocket.
