TOWNSEND Susan Mary (Gill) Townsend, age 58 of Shelton, beloved wife of William Townsend, died on Friday, December 11, 2009 at St. Vincent Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Jane (O'Neill) Gill. Susan was retired from SNET Company and was currently employed with HealthNet in Shelton. She was a loving wife and mother who cherished every moment spent with her five grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two loving daughters, Stacey Platt and her husband, Jimmy of Shelton and Julia Townsend and her fianc�, Jim Bazso of Milford; five grandchildren, James and Madeline Bazso and Jane, Ella and William Platt; four brothers, Robert Gill of Southbury, John Gill and his wife, Susan of Orange, Thomas Gill of Stratford, and David Gill and his wife, Chris of Stratford; four sisters, Maggie DiMartino of Stratford, Anne Nevers and her husband, Henry of Fairfield, Eileen Gill of Stratford and Kady Hovan and her husband, Christopher of Ansonia; and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 10 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Joseph Church, 50 Fairmont Pl., Shelton with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday 2 to 6 p.m. in the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford.
