Arnoldsville - Sue Bray Smith, 84, of Arnoldsville, GA passed away on March 20, 2004, at her home.A native of the Arnoldsville Community, she was the daughter of the late E. Logan and Sally Swords Bray. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady G. Smith, two sisters, Frances Dudley and Carrie Etheredge, and her eldest son, Michael Logan Smith.Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Eudora Bray, Winterville; a sister, Kathryn Hancock of Cedar Creek, Athens; son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Rhonda Smith, Arnoldsville; Mrs. Ted (Sally) Fielder, Monroe; daughter-in-law Jean Smith, Arizona; Grandchildren: Jeff and Tina Smith, Comer; Jason Smith and Kari Abernathy, Naples, FL; Fred Fielder and Abby Fielder, Monroe; Suzanna Fielder and Michael Smith, Arnoldsville; Jennifer Smith, Arizona; Raina McClure, Gainesville; and great-grandchildren: Courtney, Blake and Mallory Smith, Comer.Sue was fondly known in the Arnoldsville Community as the gal who had rather wear overalls to school instead of dresses. She worked various jobs on the family cotton farm, including delivering cotton to the gin by horse and wagon with her brother. Her memories of Oglethorpe County were quite amusing and entertaining. She left Arnoldsville to marry and raise her children in the Grant Park area of Atlanta. Retirement brought her and Grady back to Arnoldsville to live on family farm land. After Grady's death she remained to be with her family and friends of childhood. She was a member of Arnoldsville Baptist Church.She enjoyed playing Sequence every Thursday with many lifelong friends from the community until her health failed.Funeral services will be held at Lord and Stephens, East, on Monday, March 22, 2004 at 1:00 PM. Graveside Memorial will be at Bay Creek Cemetery, Loganville, GA at 3:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Arnoldsville Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.
