ST. ONGE Sister Corinne, SMIC, 81, passed into eternal life on June 13, 2013, at McAuley Health Care Center, Watchung, NJ. Sister Corinne was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on December 13, 1931, one of six children born to Emile and Corinne St. Onge. She entered the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, West Paterson on July 28, 1952, professing perpetual vows on February 11, 1957. She held many administrative duties within the communities of her congregation, including over seeing departments of maintenance and laundry at the mother house in West Paterson and administrator to the community at the Generalate in Middleville, NJ. She taught elementary school at Holy Cross, Austin, TX. After attaining her LPN license from St. Francis Hospital, Olean, NY, she returned to provide nursing services to both the Sisters in the mother house and the Residents in Holy Family Residence in West Paterson. Following a massive stroke, she served in San Antonio, TX, for many years as a volunteer in parish ministry. Her final years were lived in community in Ringwood, NJ, and finally McAuley Health Care Center, Watchung, NJ. Beside her community of religious Sisters, survivors include several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013, from 9 to 10:30 AM, at McAuley Health Care Center. The wake service will begin at 10:30 AM; the funeral liturgy will be celebrated immediately following at 11 AM. Interment will follow in the cemetery of the Missionary Sisters on Rifle Camp Road, Woodland Park NJ.
