Obituary of Sarah-M. Allen


LOXLEY Sarah M. Allen, age 89, of Loxley, died Oct. 2, 2010, at home. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Larry Owen officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her parents, Burie and Minnie Martin; her husband, John T. Allen, Sr.; her sister, Rosie Smith; and her brother, Bennie Martin.Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Henigin; her sons, Arthur Allen, Gordon Allen, and John Allen, Jr.; her grandchildren, Van Simmons, Vanessa Simmons, David Allen, Lance Allen, Seth Allen, and John Robert Allen; and five great-grandchildren.Mrs. Allen was born November 28, 1920, in Coker to Burie and Minnie Martin. She was a charter member of the Tuscaloosa Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she attended faithfully until failing health required that she move near her son in Loxley.Pallbearers will be David Allen, Lance Allen, Gordon Allen, Arthur Allen, Seth Allen, John Robert Allen, Van Simmons, and John Allen.Honorary pallbearers are members of the Tuscaloosa Seventh-day Adventist Church.Condolences may be offered at www.memorychapelfuneralhome.com.
