Quinn, Sandra SCHENECTADY Sandra Smith Quinn passed away peacefully Monday evening, December 7, 2009, in her home after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by family. Sandra Quinn was the widow of the Honorable J. Raymond Quinn Jr. and the daughter of Dr. James E. and Anne Smith. Sandra was born and raised in Schenectady and spent many happy summers in Sacandaga Park. She was an avid bridge player and loving mother. She was a graduate of Vincentian Institute of Albany and Loretta Heights College in Colorado with a B.A. Sandra is survived by her daughter, Kirsten Anne (Ross) MacTavish, and two sons, J. Raymond (Linda) Quinn III and Kevin Patrick (Carol) Quinn. Sandra was the loving sister of Patricia Sullivan, Maureen Smith and Vivian d'Estienne as well as the late Anne Marie Ruddy and James E. Smith Jr. She will be missed by her six loving grandchildren, Abigail, Annie and Lauren Quinn, Devlin Quinn, and Bailey and Evan MacTavish, as well as many nieces and nephews. Sandra has selflessly donated her body as an anatomical gift to the Albany Medical College at Union University. There will be a memorial Mass on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church located on Union Street in Schenectady. Memorial contributions in Sandra's memory may be made to the Community Hospice of Rensselaer or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
