Ruth Worcester Johnson, 96 BUXTON -- Ruth Worcester Johnson, 96, longtime resident of Buxton, was born on Jan. 25, 1918, in Media, Pa., and died on Oct. 5, 2014. She was a graduate of the University of Maine in Home Economics. She married Paul L. Johnson on Feb. 22, 1944. She was a teacher, a music lover, and active in her community through the Dorcas Society, Garden Club and Extension. She loved people especially children and her family. She will be missed. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul L. Johnson; her parents, William and Mabel Worcester; and her siblings, William Worcester Jr. (Evelyn), Elizabeth Deily (Robert), and Philip (Anne). She is survived by her children, Margaret Stubbs (Richard ) of Waterbury, Conn., Nancy Page (Frederick) of Bethel Park, Pa., and Kenneth Johnson (Mary Ann) of Buxton; her eight grandchildren, Lisa Gould (Nathaniel) of Putnam, Conn., William Stubbs of Woodstock, Conn., Christopher Stubbs of Waterbury, Conn., James Stubbs of Ft. Drum, N.Y., Rebecca Semke (Marc) of Lemoyne, Pa., Derek Page of Bethel Park, Pa., Brian Johnson (Christine) of Buxton, and David Johnson (Carrie) of Kaneohe, Hawaii; and eight great-grandchildren, Sydney, Ella, Stella, Emma, Yana, Owen, Pippa, and Wren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at 12 p.m., at the First Congregational Church of Buxton (Tory Hill) in Buxton. A reception will be held at the family farm after the service. Burial will be at a later date. Dennett, Craig & Pate, 13 Portland Rd., Buxton are in charge of the arrangements.
