In her own words, she was "ready, ready, ready". Ruth lived her life with joy. It's hard not to smile when thinking of her. She had such a big heart and undying love for her family. Ruth was blessed with the ability to see the positive side of life. She had fun and loved adventure. She lived in Florida, California, North Carolina and Georgia; returning to Ft. Myers in recent years. Ruth did many things in her life including actively working a dairy and cattle farm with her family in Alva. She enjoyed gardening, canning the fruits of her labor then giving most of it to family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing, selling at the flea market in North Carolina, and a loose slot machine. But, most of all, Ruth enjoyed a good laugh. She had a full life and was cherished and loved by her family. She will be sadly missed but will remain in our hearts forever.Ruth is survived by one son, Dennis Walker, and two grandsons, Nathan and Steve. She is also survived by two sisters, Lorene Hall and Edith Willis, as well as her dear sister-in-law Nona Bembry, and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was the second of the late Hattie & Robert Bembry's nine children. Six of her brothers and sisters have also preceded her. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hope Hospice House - South for their loving care during Ruth's final journey. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Hope Hospice.
