SMITH, Ruth Caroline Ruth was born June 17, 1923 in Cheverie, Nova Scotia. She was the eldest child of the late John and Norma Smith. Ruth passed away into the loving arms of the Lord Friday, September 8, 2006 at the age of 83 years. Ruth was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. Nothing brought greater joy into her life than watching her great grandchildren and being with her family. Ruth spent the majority of her working years as a store clerk retiring from Wade's IGA in New Minas, Nova Scotia at the age of 60. She then moved West to be closer to her daughter and family and spent her remaining years there. Ruth is survived by her daughter Brenda (Verlyn) Busch, Mill Bay B.C.; 2 granddaughters, Ellie (Ian) Jones of Cedar, B.C. and Crystal (Colin) Hall of Mill Bay, B.C.; 4 great grandchildren, Jordan and Madison Hall and Isaac and Abbie Jones; 1 sister, Claire Burns, St. Catharines, Ont; 1 niece, Linda (Ernie) Smith and family, Windsor, N.S.; 2 nephews, Harold (Rindy) Burns and family, St. Catharines, Ont and Alex (Mary) Burns and family, St. Catharines, Ont. Ruth was predeceased by her parents; brother, John Smith; sister-in-law, Violet Smith; brother-in-law, George Burns and nephew, Richard Smith. A Funeral Service will be held at the Sands of Colwood Chapel, 317 Goldstream Avenue, Colwood, BC on Friday, September 15th, 2006 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to service time. Interment, Hatley Memorial Gardens. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Priory, Heritage Woods Oak Cottage. 293760
