LAWSON, Ruth Cameron (nee Macdougall) 1923 2007 Ruth Cameron Lawson of Cochrane, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Bethany Care Centre, Cochrane, Alberta on Friday, December 28th, 2007 at the age of 84 years. She was born in Alert Bay, B.C., and lived in the Calgary / Cochrane area most of her married life. Ruth was predeceased by her husband of almost 60 years, Doug, her sister Heather, and her great grandson Jackson David Ruyter. She is survived by her children: Cathie Wankel and husband Howard, Barb Ast and husband Doug, and Doug Lawson and wife Maria; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law Shirley Lawson; and several nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her sharp wit, love of animals, and volunteer support for the community. Ruth was a long time member of the Opti-Mrs and the Order of the Eastern Star. The family thanks the care staff of the Bethany Care Centre Cochrane, Alberta. As per Ruth's wishes, there will be a family celebration of her life at a later date at PASU Farms, place of birth of her husband Doug.
