Ruth was born on October 26, 1920 in Springfield, to Everett and Edith "Prater" Dodson. She was a graduate of Central High School class of 1938. Ruth was married to Werth Johnson on February 14, 1942 and he preceded her in death on December 24, 2011. Ruth was a member of the Mentor Baptist Church and taught the ladies Sunday school class. Ruth was a member of the Watershed Committee of the Ozarks, Bethel chapter of the Eastern Star. And board member of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. Ruth worked for 21st Century Genetics for 25 years before retiring. Surviving is a niece Carolyn Cochran of Springfield and a nephew Gary Johnson of Renton, WA. and several very special friends. Ruth was also preceded in death by her sister and brother in law, Katy and Jim Troutt. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 in the Mentor Baptist Church, Rogersville, with burial in the Holland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
