Ruth E. Smithof West WindsorRuth E. Smith, 69, of West Windsor, went to meet her husband with open arms, Tuesday, May 16, 2006. She was predeceased by her parents, John L. and Clara (Seehoffer) Bush. She is survived by her sons, Kevin J. Smith and Robert B. Smith; a grandson, Sean W. Smith, all of Windsor; her sisters, Marie E. Baker, Rochester, Anna Marie Grisel, Conklin; many special nieces and nephews; as well as many friends and neighbors who she always took time to visit with. She worked many years at Vail Ballou Press Co. Ruthie (as her kids called her), babysat for over 30 years for generations of children. These special people touched her life in so many wonderful ways. Many of her "kids" still came to visit her and stayed in touch over the years. The children were what lit up her heart and kept her going, as she lit up so many of our hearts.Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson Street, Binghamton. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., or Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Those wishing may consider contributions in her memory to New Horizons Treatment Center, c/o United Health Services Foundation, Mitchell Avenue, Binghamton, N.Y. 13903.
